So there I was minding my own business, checking emails on Outlook when suddenly a message pops up which asks:

"Allow this website to configure your@domainname server settings?"

" ......../autodiscover/autodiscover.xml"

"Your account was redirected to this website for settings..."

And I had the option to either Allow or Cancel, as well as could tick a box so that it doesn't ask about this website again.

The only issue is, the address that was given was my web hosting's email server address, whereas I was using Office 365.

To future me,

Here's a note that you need to read, because you wrote it. You wrote with only one purpose in mind - to remind yourself of a few things that you should never forget, because these things have shaped your life in some way or the other, and irrespective of whether they are good or bad, these are things that that have taught you valuable lessons.

Strange Promise

Here's a little song I wrote a few years back. It was a very personal song and hence I never shared it in the public domain, until now.

So with the release of The Force Awakens, I recently re-watched the entire saga, but this was the first time I tried the Full Machete order. For those who don't know, this is the order:

  • Episode IV: A New Hope
  • Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
  • Episode I: The Phantom Menace
  • Episode II: Attack Of The Clones
  • Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith
  • Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi

This is for all those people who want to learn how to start with Astrophotography.

So recently I had an itch to play Age Of Empires II - The Conquerors again, having never finished the campaigns yet. I tried it on my 64 bit windows 8 laptop and it just wouldn't work - I tried all sorts of settings, but the game would just start, then crash, without any explanation. I tried running it in compatibility mode with all versions of Windows possible, to no avail.

Too bad the Aztecs had no cavalry.

The solution that finally worked was, adding a piece of text to the target of the shortcut which runs it:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age2_x1\age2_x1.exe" NoStartup Msync NOSC Mfill 800

The issue was caused due to a direct draw conflict, which the added run parameters solved.

EDIT: This blog post is related to the original Age of Empires II, and not the Steam edition which runs on Windows 8 by default. Steam is awesome, and if you like Age of Empires II then get the HD edition here.

My Bucket List

What is the meaning of life? I often wonder the purpose of the existence of a human being - is it something more than mere randomness that I, we, exist? What constitutes a 'fulfilled' life?

Well I have some idea of what I want to do in my life - and I have divided them into 3 different categories: concerts to attend, places to visit, and things to do. I will be updating this if I have things to add - or cross off the list.

And it was decided.

It was decided within two months, that it was going to end. I should have known. We had nothing in common. I should have been prepared, but I wasn't. And neither was she - which is why it lasted longer than two months. It lasted two years, in fact. Two years of happiness, bliss, and agony. At the end of it, I guess both of us were glad it was over.

Life's too short

Life's too short:
  • To remain angry at people
  • To feel sorry for yourself
  • To do something you don't want to do
  • To make a stubborn person understand your point of view
  • To cry over losing someone who didn't love you
The new Facebook chat / sidebar sucks.

It first appeared on Sunday 17th of July, and it just might be the biggest reason yet for Facebook users to switch to another social network, even if just for chat.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Time: 1 hour (approx)
Cost: 10 US$ (approx)

This is for all users who are on blogger, and wish to migrate to their own domain.
Did you know that you could download all of your Facebook information in one go?

Go to Account settings. There should be a 'Download your information' option right at the bottom.

Here's my list of top 10 animated movies to look forward to in 2011:

# 10 : Mars Needs Moms : Releasing in March 2011, this has a shaky storyline, where a youg boy finds that his mom has been abducted by aliens, and goes on an inter-planetary adventure to rescue her.

Sleep

I can't sleep.

I've found that I can't sleep until I exhaust myself. I can remain awake till 10 am. On a weekday.

Part of my insomnia maybe caused by the fact that I wake up late, and considering the fact that I have my summer holidays going on, I find it hard to wake up early.

Conspiracy Theories

I am diabolical.

Oh, you don't believe me? I can prove it. I am currently devising a secret plan which is going to overthrow the current established authorities and plan to take over the world.

Or not.

The Lost Soul

The worst part about falling in love is falling out of love.

Different people have different ways to fall out of love, however. Some people wake up one day realizing that their partner is not good enough. Some people fall in love with someone else, so they fall out of love with the previous person.

It sucks, of course, for the partner, in such a situation. Results in heart break. Paramedics rush to the spot.

Dealing with heart break? Different people, different ways. Like ignoring the person. Or listening to sad songs till you start crying. Talking to friends. Or punching a hole in the wall.

PM: wat a lame blog!!!!!!!!!
Me: !@#$
"

Oh, let me introduce the Peeved Mythomaniac (PM). Yes, Mythomaniac is a word, and it does suit him, as he does have a tendency to lie or exaggerate the truth. Peeved, 'cause he appears so in this post, even though on normal days he is irritating himself, and proud of it, too.

Pastafarianism

An Announcement:

I am changing my religious belief. I am renouncing Atheism in favor of Pastafarianism. If Intelligent Design does exist, as almost all religions propagate, and the world, specifically humanity, was created by a superior creature who is omnipresent and all-knowing, and is pure and can make no mistakes, then that superior creature HAS to be His Noodliness The Flying Spaghetti Monster.

The Elusive Poet

You must have noticed a 'Cast' section on this blog. Over there, in the column on your right. Just below the 'About Me' Section. Yea, that one. It consists of a few of the people I interact with, and whose recent interactions with me are worth mentioning. These are real people in my life, and chances are, if you're reading this blog, you know some of them.

One such person is the EP (short for Elusive Poet).
